Our Story
The Time When they went on their First Date:
2016 is when the official story began. Ravi and Aditi were friends over the years, and reconnected more strongly when she moved to Buffalo for residency. Ravi was working in Sarnia at the time, and asked Aditi if she wanted to meet up for an actual date.
The plan was to finish the patients for the day and meet each other half way. No surprise, Aditi finished her patients and got to their date location at 5pm on a Friday. Also no surprise, Ravi, who was also supposed to finish up with his patients early, couldn't get out of work on time due to lack of coverage (so he said). Ravi left THREE hours late (!!!), which ended up making Aditi wait THREE hours for this date (!!!), frantically apologizing the whole way (no surprise).
The effort was there, and their friendship was strong, so Aditi decided to grace Ravi with the date (even after THREE hours !!!). The reservations Ravi had made got canceled (Bharatanatyam fusion dance, Vegan Vege Extraordinaire Dinner, Smores by the Lake.....alas, even the best laid plans go awry), and as they arrived to each stop along the date, it was to the doors closing. The two ended up going to a Thai restaurant and had a nice dinner, talking about music, medicine and e-sports.
Ravi (in a rare and serendipitous stroke of genius) had secured a second date before the first even started. A second meeting was bound to happen.
The Time When it Turned Into More than Friendship:
Ravi and Aditi both have an ear for music. One of the artists they both like is Atif Aslam. Ravi planned a date where they would go to his concert in Mississauga. Both ended up falling in love to the music and with each other at the concert. Atif Aslam made this couple and is the reason they are now getting married. Unfortunately, he had prior commitments and would not be able to attend their wedding.
The TIme When He caught his Lobster and Proposed:
In September 2019, Ravi asked his parents and Aditi's parents for their blessings to get married. The planning for the proposal happened with the help of Ravi and Aditi's friends. And on November 16th, 2019, Ravi and their friends and family, surprised Aditi with an amazing proposal.
Aditi was going to Chicago for her best friend, Anum's, 30th birthday party. Anum and Aditi grew up together, and reached every milestone from grade school to adulthood together. They couldn't miss the 30th birthday. So Aditi flew to see Anum. Aditi's sister, Krupa, helped get Aditi ready for this grand banquet that they were both going to attend for Anum.
Meanwhile, Ravi was coming to Chicago, thanks to their friends that woke him up and made sure he did not forget the ring. And at 6pm, Aditi got to London House in downtown Chicago with Anum and Krupa to celebrate a birthday party.
They went to roof top, and instead of Anum's family, there was a walkway full of rose petals leading to a gazebo with Ravi standing in the center. Musicians were playing an Atif Aslam song, candles were everywhere and all Aditi could think at the moment was...Ravi was on call this weekend and would get in trouble for coming to Chicago.
Obviously, he wasn't on call and when she realized he was proposing all the happiness and shock flooded her face. After which were more surprises as their friends and family joined in on the celebration. They had all been planning this for months and actually had kept quite about it.
Aditi and Ravi knew this was just the start of planning a beautiful journey together.
And Now:
Here we are! Planning a wedding amongst COVID. We know the people that truly know us know how happy we are together. We hope to start a wonderful journey with all our loved ones involved.
